Mobile phone users can now get the new tones—songs by original singers—from a wide range of artistes from the Sony Music label. Among them are Beyonce, Destiny’s Child, Ricky Martin, Sheila on 7, F4, Wang Lee Hom, Karen Mok, Erra Fazira and Bob Dylan.

In addition to the next generation of ringtones or True Tones, a comprehensive selection of artiste screensavers, wallpapers, images and celebrity voice greetings will be made available allowing users to further personalise their mobile phones.

Other innovative mobile music services that will be offered include song dedications where mobile phone users can send original song clips to the phones of friends and family. “These original song clips can also be used in a new service called the ’Ringback Tone‘,” says Tan Swee Yeong, the CEO of UnrealMind.

In this service, a subscriber can assign an original song clip that will be heard by a caller who is being contacted. “They can choose different songs for different groups of people that are calling them”
